If you’re a Chrome, Firefox or Edge user you probably do not give much thought to other web browsers. But if you’re in search of one that places a strong emphasis on privacy and security, Avast Secure Browser is a worthy having a look. The Chromium browser comes with the ability to click-reference VPN, ad blocker and other features.

Its ad blocker lets you modify the settings and enable strict blocking mode to keep out even the most persistent ads. It also can be used with the uBlock Origin plugin, which provides third-party filter lists and dynamic filters for better control. Its phishing prevention feature helps you stay safe from scammy sites and its banking mode protects your passwords and credit card information from the eyes of a snooper.

Tab grouping is another feature that helps you navigate between tabs by organizing them. It syncs bookmarks, history and other information across platforms so that you can continue browsing where you have left off. It also blocks ads on websites which helps speed up website loading speeds.

Avast’s web browser appears almost like Google Chrome. It lets you import your existing bookmarks, configuration settings, as well as other features that are available as you switch to the new browser. The only drawback is that it sends usage statistics and crash reports to Avast’s servers, which you can change at secure://settings/importData. It’s a reliable web browser that has a variety of security and privacy options.
